City - Safety
A safer and secure City for stress-free driving
The more exciting it gets, the safer it is. The more fun you have on the road, the more efficiently the vehicle protects you from harm.
Passive Safety
Helping protect people when an accident becomes unavoidable.
Driver and front passenger seat airbag system
In a frontal impact of sufficient strength, the front airbags instantly inflate and deflate to help reduce injury to the driver and front passenger.
Note: Airbags function correctly only when seatbelts are properly used.
3-point ELR seat belts with pretensioners and load limiters

Pedestrian injury reduction
Honda's comprehensive approach to safety includes enhanced protection of pedestrians in the event of an accident, using impact-absorbing front components.

- Impact-absorbing hood
- Impact-absorbing hood hinges
- Impact-absorbing front fenders
- Impact-absorbing wipers
- Impact-absorbing bumpers
- Impact-absorbing supporting part of windshield
Body designed for collision compatibility with other vehicles as well as greater pedestrian safetyThe Honda City's body is designed to enhance passenger protection through compatibility with other vehicles, reducing damage incurred by impact. This design prevents the vehicle's shock-absorbent component from jolting out of alignment with that of the other vehicle. At the same time, this design disperses collision impact over as wide an area as possible for greater efficiency of impact absorption and greatly reduced stress on the cabin. |

High-level safety performance in collisions from all directionsHonda performed comprehensive crash testing in pursuit of real-world vehicle occupant safety performance. The Honda City was tested in full frontal collisions with a barrier at 55km/h, frontal offset collisions at 64km/h, side collisions as 50km/h, and rear-end collisions at 50km/h. All these crash test showed that the vehicle reduces injuries to occupants and preserves survival space. |

Active Safety
Helping avoid accidents before occurrence.
ABS with EBD and BA as a standard feature

ABS (Anti-lock Braking System) helps prevent the wheels from locking in emergency braking situations and on slippery road surfaces. It increases vehicle stability and control during deceleration to help you avoid accidents. For vehicle stability, the EBD (Electronic Brake Force Distribution) applies braking distribution control between front and rear wheels while the BA (Brake Assist) system generates full braking force with minimal braking pedal input.
